H.L. College of Commerce had organized an 18 hours certificate course “Technical and Analytical Skill Development for Stock Market” from 31st July to 9th August, 2009 in association with Kothari Stock Academy, Mumbai. Mr. Kamlesh Kothari gave the in-depth knowledge about stock market and also motivated the participants for independent research on a specific script. The course was well received by the participants.

As every year the inaugural issue of the H.L. Times wall magazine 2009-10 was put up on the friendship day by the F.Y. students. The motive is to give the freshers a chance to showcase their creativity. The entire campus and wall was decorated with specially made H.L. Times banners. This event had attracted a great mass of the students in the college. The H.L. wall and notice board was beautifully decorated by articles, paintings and poems by the enthusiastic students. Also there was a slogan contest held for students to submit their dedications for their friends. The event ended up with the declaration of the F.Y. editor of the wall magazine and library corner.
