Creativity is the essence of life and at H.L College Of Commerce Creativity is synonymous to ‘H. L Times’. It started with a fortnightly wall magazine where the students got a platform to exhibit their creativities, hobbies, and passion. Any kind of articles, poems, paintings, thoughts that the student wants to share is exhibited on the wall magazine. In a nutshell, any piece of art is welcomed to H.L. Times.

Year 2008 proved to be a mile stone for this activity as well as the college. “H.L Times… our words, our words” turned out as a print issue. A first ever print magazine by H.L. College Of Commerce. It’s a youth oriented magazine, which included student’s articles, professor’s articles, interviews of distinguished personalities over the country in all genres as well as interactive pages. The interviews included Natu Mistry, Paresh Rawal, Nayan Shah, Shyamal - Bhumika, Ela Bhatt, Narendra Somani etc. It was inaugurated by Vivian Fernandes, senior editor of a leading news channel. The cover page was exclusively designed by the famous Mrityunjay Mondol. It was a pure blend of morals and ethics. This is a result of endless efforts and hard work of the students involved. Since then H.L. Times is raising its standards and capabilities year by year.

2009 issue was again a big hit. The hoardings glittered over the city. It was launched by Shri I.P. Gautam, municipal commissioner and Mr Abhay Mangaldas, a leading entrepreneur. The cover page was marvelously designed by Mr. Pravin Mishra, a national award winner. The interviews included Tarak Mehta, Sandip Soparkar, Apoorva Lakhiya, Satyajit Chaurasia, Dr. C. Gopalkrishnan, etc.

Year 2010 also geared up with a wonderful start. The 1st wall issue was launched on friendship day. The theme being ‘friendship with a cause’, we were successful in extending our hand for friendship with nature, animals, nations, birds and the environment. This was supported by the release of hundreds of captured birds and a dance performance by the team. The team has made a point not to leave any stone unturned as it moves forward toward the upcoming and a much awaited issue of 2010. This would bring along some more youthful articles and put forward some more personalities for the readers.

In addition to the print and the wall magazine H.L. Times also has one more wing i.e. ‘The Library Corner’, which updates itself weekly with quiz, book reviews, new entries in the library, book reviews and many more.

In addition to the above we also have a sponsorship and a creative team helping in all the work i.e the wall the print as well as the library corner.

All these achievement would not have been possible without Dr. Parag Shah, professor in-charge. Our hearty thanks to him because without guidance and helping hand H.L. Times wouldn’t have been at the heights it is today.
