As an Associated NCC Officer,
was a member of the team which planned and
conducted the first ever in India vehicle
expedition to Siachen Glacier Base Camp, the
highest battle field in the world, during
September-October 2004. The team drove within 19
days more than 7000 kms across the highest
motorable road in the world, through the rugged
and inhospitable Himalayas and the Shivalik
mountain ranges and Khardung-la Pass to Siachen
Camp and down via Kargil, Drass and Srinagar to
the plains of Punjab. The return journey was
through the deserts of Rajasthan and the Rann of
Kutch. This expedition was organized by the
Gujarat Directorate NCC. |
