On Sunday, 30th September, 2007 the Youth Festival on the H.L campus moved towards the closing ceremony with gracious presence of Shri V. K. Chavda (Asst. Director, Youth Welfare Dept., Gujarat University), Dr. N. K. Patel (Pro-Vice-Chancellor, Gujarat University) and Shri Ashokbhai Gandhi (Governing Council Member, Ahmedabad Education Society) where the Chief Guest as well as Principal Dr. Ms. M.S.Kelshikar expressed her joy for successfully holding the Youth Fest 2007 Ellisbridge North Zone. Later the best 3 colleges in each of the competition were announced which brought a wave of celebration among the winning colleges. H. L. was successful in grabbing prizes in the top 3 position in 14 different categories.

17 Number of event were held at 3 different venues namely H. L. Campus, Town Hall and Gujarat University Senate Hall. The competition included folk dance, classic dance, Solo singing, group singing (western), instrumental, mime, skit, mehendi, poster making, clay modeling etc. On day one of the youth festival, folk dance competition rocked the campus, while on the next day theater items did so in the Senate Hall.

The enthusiasm was a replica of the pride and sportive spirit of the staff, students and the alumni of the college as H. L. College of Commerce was the host to the Annual Gujarat University Youth Festival 2007 Ellisbridge North Zone, where 39 colleges and over 1212 students competed. On Saturday, 29th September, 2007 at the inaugural function, Chief Guest Shri. V. K. Chavda ( Asst. Director, Youth Welfare Dept., Gujarat University), Shri Sureshbhai Rajda (Renowned Writer, Director, Actor- Gujarati Theater) and Shri S. M. Shah (Director, Ahmedabad Education Society) shared gracious presence and wished good luck to the college as well as to the participating students. I/C Principal Dr. Ms. M.S. Kelshikar and conveners Prof. H. R. Bharucha and Prof. Y. D. Shastri expressed their warm welcome to all.

5th September, 2007 being a holiday, students of HLCC celebrated Teachers' Day on Saturday, 8th September, 2007 to pay gratitude to their beloved teachers.

A council representing students' ideas, potentials, talents and difficulties which consists of a couple of representatives of each class along with the cultural, games, debate, ladies and general secretary, are announced at the beginning of every academic year. Customarily this year on Friday, 24th August, 2007, the Students' Council for 2007-2008 was announced when General Secretary Mr. Pranav N. Joshi of T.Y. B. Com. - I, took an oath to shoulder the responsibility for the coming year. The event was followed by entertainment being provided by the Harmony Band.
